An Update and Upcoming Classes
I'm still looking for jobs and trying to do some freelance work, so new posts are likely to be few and far between for the coming weeks. I spent this morning making bread and will be scoring and cutting card stock and making leaf prints this afternoon. I took some time to not exactly scour the Internet to get information on upcoming workshops.
Hurry, Hurry!
Sign up for these while you can. They start very soon.
Alisa Burke is holding her Larger than Life one-day class at her Oregon studio on Saturday, October 13, 2012. Because the class involves working with lots of paint on large canvas substrates, class size is limited to six people. As of last week, there were two spots open. Since this class is small and is coming up so, soon, I suggest you contact Alisa immediately to see if you can still get in.
Michelle Ward's Synchronicity workshop will be held at Valley Ridge Art Studio outside Madison Wisconsin October 12-14, 2012. The maximum class size is 15 people. Participants will construct an art book with the theme of circles. Again, since time is of the essence, click the link above to see if there is still room in the workshop.
The Urban Notebook, a self-paced online class from Dawn DeVries Sokol begins October 22, 2012. Participants will make an urban-style notebook from lightweight cardboard such as cereal and pasta boxes, paints, inks, stamps, etc. Click on the hot link for details.
Not a workshop, but Roben-Marie Smith is closing her online Art Goods Shop soon. Items are 50 to 60 percent off, so you could get some good deals on some great supplies. The store is closing for good, so quantities may be limited.
Coming Soon, But Not Immediately
Traci Bautista offers her discovering Y.O.U. part two {creative marketing roadmap} e-course starting in November 2012. The course is a self-guided instant download that consists of PDF lessons, worksheets, and videos. Participants do not have to have taken part one, but should already have an established online presence and should have been in business for at least a year. The course includes a plethora of topics on how to have a successful art business. Topics covered include how to make money from your blog, how to use social media, and the process of writing and publishing a book. Oh, if only I had the money to take this course.
Tamara Laporte of Willowing Arts is organizing her Life Book 2013
course. Registration opens October 8, 2012, and classes begin January 1, 2013. Can you believe we're already talking about January 2013?
Life Book 2013 is an online course featuring many stars of the mixed media/scrapbooking world as instructors, including Julie Fei-Fan Balzer, Danita, Dawn DeVries Sokol, and Christy Tomlinson. Participants will be creating at least two mixed media pages per month and will receive a minimum of two lessons per month. At the end of the year, participants will bind their journal pages into life books.
I will post more information on upcoming classes as time allows.
